Born in Captivity

Born in Captivity: Pyschopathology as a Legacy of Slavery (Pre-release)

Born in Captivity 1 (2)Born in Captivity is my 17th book to reach publication, and it is also the most in-depth and comprehensive book thus far. It is a reflection of the more than 50,000 hours of research conducted over the last 20 plus years.

In this book, I confront the darkness that is normally avoided at all cost — psychopathology as a legacy of slavery. With intergenerational transmission of trauma as a root problem in African American behavior, I endeavored to unwrap origin, causality, perpetuation and resolution.

I confront relational a familial issues, inferiority complexes, consumerism, disunity, how we view and treat property, incest, rape and other forms of CSA, as well as religious influences on social mobility and functionality.

As is my philosophy, it did not stop with identifying the origins and causes, but continued in the intense work of facilitating repair and healing. While the process of healing will require patience, I am one who believes that it is more than possible, but ultimately inevitable.

The content within this book will be released in three forms — digital book (e-book), print publication and DVD (Documentary)! The pre-release sale of the book is priced at $21.99, and the first 100 purchasers will receive all three versions of the book for the price of $21.99, plus $5.00 shipping and handling (which includes the separate shipping of the print publication and the DVD).

This book will be between 450 and 600 pages (depending on final formatting) of intense information and resources to empower those who want to start their own work associated with empowering the numerous groups within our collective. After the pre-release phase, the digital copy will be priced at $21.99, the print version will be $29.99 and the DVD will be priced at $25.99. So, this pre-sale is the ideal opportunity to get it all for the price of purchasing the digital copy.

It is important to understand that we will not work ourselves out of the who that we are currently in without being willing to invest in resources, research and program development and implementation. The time to start is now. You can get your copy below. Thank you in advance! ~ Rick Wallace, Ph.D.
